Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been working on a General Management Plan Amendment for the Elkmont Historic District that will guide future management of this district for the next 15-20 years. The planning team has gained valuable input from you as part of the public input process. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was published February 10, 2006 and the official public comment period ended May 11, 2006. The planning team is currently in the process of reviewing these comments and will respond to substantive comments in the Final EIS.
