Pisgah - Appalachian District
Chapter 6 sample - Catawba Falls and Kitsuma Peak

The Appalachian District, located north of Asheville, is an arc formed by two discontinuous pieces of land, including Mt. Mitchell and sections of the Appalachian Trail. It is not as well known as the other two Pisgah National Forest Districts, Pisgah and Grandfather.
The District also includes trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway such as Big Butt Trail. The picture on the right is a view of the Mt. Mitchell Ridge from the Big Butt Trail.
