Pinnacle Park, outside of Sylva
Pinnacle Park is a 1,088-acre jewel set in the Fisher Creek section of the Plott Balsams, close to downtown Sylva. The main trail, which goes from Sylva to Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 451.2, is well blazed with yellow and purple blazes, the school colors of nearby Western Carolina University.
Go up to The Pinnacle, across to Black rock and come down the east fork of Fisher Creek, primarily on old roads.

Trailhead: From the old Jackson County Courthouse, drive southeast on Main St. for 0.8 mile and make a left at a traffic light on Business 23N at its junction with NC 107. Drive 0.2 mile and turn left on Skyland Dr. (SR 1432). Continue 1.7 miles, turn left on Fisher Creek Rd., and drive 2.3 miles to the end of the road into a parking area.
