The trail, blazed yellow, climbs up the whole way. The hiker is rewarded with an outstanding rocky outcropping on top and great views across the Blue Ridge Parkway. Spring flowers are bountiful on this trail. A popular trail, not for those looking for solitude.

After coming down, drive north on U.S. 276 to see Looking Glass Falls.

Trailhead: From NC 280 in the community of Pisgah Forest, go north on U.S. 276 to enter Pisgah National Forest. Drive 5.5 miles and turn left on FS 475 ( Fish Hatchery Road).The trailhead is located 0.4 miles on the right.
