Blue Ridge Parkway documentary

Filed Under:

Yesterday was the premiere of a documentary on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The documentary was aired on WRAL in Raleigh and is on the web.

The 30 min. film concentrated on the history of the Parkway and its current problems, namely lack of funding. But there was a minute or two on hiking on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Check it out on the web or on other stations later on.

Actually very little of the documentary I produced is about the Parkway's history (about five minutes) or the maintenance and funding issues (about another five minutes). The vast majority of the program is about how different people use the Parkway, motorists, bicyclists, motorcyclists and the Parkway as an recreational, economic and educational resource. I hope everyone who visits this site has an opportunity to check out the documentary.

Trips to the Parkway

This is truly my FAVORITE American Journey!!! While I was able to travel, I went to the Parkway for 17 years straight. My health won't let me, or I would still be there every October. I would also love to see it in the Spring when the Rhododendren are in bloom (hope I spelled that right). This is a great site! Thanks!!
