Tomorrow, my book The Mountains-to-Sea Trail Across North Carolina will be officially launched. I'll be at Diamond Brand Outdoors for an evening of fun, food and festivities on Tuesday March 5 at 6 pm. Here's the facebook page for Diamond Brand.

Now I know that many of you already have the book. It's in most bookstores and outdoor stores in North Carolina. But tomorrow will be the first time I'll talk about it in front of an audience. This will be a fund-raising event for Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail as well.

After that, I go on the road through North Carolina. This is not a continuous tour. After all, I have my day jobs like leading hikes for Carolina Mountain Club and Friends of the Smokies, supporting Great Smoky Mountains Association and writing about national parks. And of course, I need to do my part for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Biennial meeting in July.

No, just like walking the MST itself, I'll be hitting the road in sections - Charlotte, The Triangle, the Coastal Plains and the Outer Banks and going home after each of these trips.

I'm putting the finishing touches to my videos and presentation, making sure I have all the equipment I need and checking that I have something appropriate to wear. Red, maybe?
